Accounts Assistant

Our client, a dynamic and growing business based in Great Dunmow, is seeking a highly skilled Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's financial processes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Verify and approve all expenditure across the business, ensuring accurate matching to purchase orders.
  • Reconcile cash and card receipts in a timely manner, maintaining accurate records.
  • Implement and maintain consistent, precise, and timely accounting procedures for the group.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support and assist with annual external auditing and statutory accounts processes.
  • Identify potential risks and provide recommendations for prevention, monitoring, detection, and resolution.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of cashbooks and resolve internal and external cash queries.
  • Post invoices to the correct site and/or statutory company and manage payments according to BACS and/or Priority Payment.
  • Assist with year-end audit and preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Requirements:
  • Initiative and a proactive attitude are essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate-level Excel skills and experience with Sage 200.
  • Ability to work under tight reporting deadlines.
