Job Summary

Cherry Pick People is seeking a highly experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team as a client-side professional working on refurbishment projects in the UK. As a key member of our property development team, you will be responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee projects end-to-end, including schedules, design, and works, and manage all project-related tasks.
  • Documentation Management: Update internal IT systems, manage documentation for tendering and negotiation, and prepare all necessary paperwork.
  • External Partnerships: Appoint and manage external bodies, such as consultants and planners, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Quality Control: Report to management on quality and specification achieved on site, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Pre-Start and Ongoing Meetings: Manage and direct pre-start and ongoing review meetings with contractors to ensure project progress and quality.
  • Build Handover Schedule: Ensure the build handover schedule is up-to-date and manage the handover of units.
  • Pre-Construction Information: Work with the Principal Designer to issue pre-construction information and review/approve plans.
  • Financial Management: Assist with the management and preparation of financial budget processes and ensure all data within the cost database is maintained.
  • Variations Management: Manage all variations from the scope of works, ensuring proper identification, communication, and approval.
  • Payment Validation: Validate Main Contractor applications for payment by reporting on progress and quality of work.
  • Project Presentation: Ensure project presentation is of high standard pre-launch and throughout the sales process.
  • Liaison with Sales/Marketing: Liaise with sales/marketing in relation to design and specification.
  • Health and Safety: Implement the health and safety policy, ensuring practices and procedures are followed.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience as a Project Manager or Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a passion for varied refurbishment projects, ideally in the residential sector.
  • Education: Construction or real estate degree or qualified by experience.
  • Software Skills: Previous experience using project management software and/or databases to run projects.
  • Financial Management: Comfortable with financial/cashflow management, budgeting, and managing variations through projects.
  • Documentation Management: Competent in preparation and management of all required specification and contractual documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Proven organization and communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Adaptable, focused on personal development, and team-oriented.
  • Travel Requirements: Regular travel across England and Wales, with a full driving license necessary.
