Senior Accountant

We are seeking a driven and ambitious Senior Accountant to join our Agriculture and Food team based out of our office. As a Senior Accountant, you will display a flexible, confident, and professional approach.
You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients predominantly in the Agricultural and Food sector. Your responsibilities will include preparing statutory and partnership financial statements, assisting clients with queries in respect of accounting and taxation matters, updating client systems to align with signed accounts, and being part of the wider Agriculture and Food team across the firm.

- Prepare financial statements in accordance with relevant financial reporting standards from source documents/records to final accounts for review by the appropriate manager.
- Prepare accounting schedules to support the balances and transactions included in the financial statements.
- Work on a wide range of accounts.
- Make timely and relevant recommendations in relation to accounting matters, financial reporting, and accounting systems in use (including software).
We are looking for someone with AAT level 3 or 4, ACCA, or ACA qualifications, and strong practical knowledge/experience of accounts preparation with at least three years. You should also have cloud-based accounting systems knowledge including Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks, and software experience with Farmplan, KeyPrime, and SumIT/TOTAL. Strong IT skills including Word, Outlook, and Excel, to an intermediate level, to produce letters and spreadsheets, and basic tax knowledge - awareness of how to do tax computations, PAYE, VAT.
