A leading engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on customer projects from concept through to series production.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinating and controlling investigation of customer and supplier complaints to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  2. Monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions to eliminate supplier or customer complaints.
  3. Accountable for all line quality issues, including containment, corrective action, risk assessment, and problem resolution.
  4. Continuous monitoring of manufacturing processes through audits, statistical analysis, and other relevant techniques to support continuous improvement.
  5. Providing guidance to shop floor staff on quality assurance and cost-saving techniques.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in production quality control and new product introduction within automotive tier 1 or OEM manufacturing.
  2. Apprentice trained, HNC or degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
  3. Ability to liaise with and manage OEM customer and supplier expectations.
  4. Structured problem-solving skills, including 8D, 5Y, A3, and PPS.
  5. Familiarity with lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement techniques.
  6. Knowledge of volume manufacturing processes.
  7. Internal auditor experience, preferably with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001.
  8. Proven ability to use quality tools such as PPAP, Control Plans, MSA, and PFMEA.
