About the Role

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistants to support the learning and development of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in our partner schools across Derbyshire and Nottingham.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored educational activities for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of teachers and special educators to ensure students receive the support they need.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support, working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure a smooth and productive learning experience.
  • Prepare and organise learning materials and resources to support student learning and engagement.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular updates to teachers and other stakeholders to inform instruction and support.
  • Support students during school activities, outings, and events, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and external agencies to support student needs and ensure a cohesive approach to education and support.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEN and inclusive education practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and other stakeholders.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with a commitment to supporting students with SEN.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.
