Excellence in Community Healthcare: Pediatric Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled pediatric nurse to join our Virtual Ward initiative at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. This part-time role offers a unique chance to make a difference in the community by providing innovative care to children and young people with acute medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care in the community, focusing on prevention of unnecessary hospital admissions and facilitation of early discharges.
  • Participate in the development of specialized care pathways for respiratory, gastroenteritis, tonsillitis, and other conditions.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication with patients and families.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Virtual Ward initiative, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices.

Requirements:

  • RN Child Branch/RSCN qualification or equivalent.
  • Degree in specialty (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Experience in acute and community pediatrics, with a focus on teaching and learning initiatives.
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and a passion for community healthcare.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Triage/assessment course or NMP certification.
  • Experience in supporting and implementing change, with a focus on improving patient outcomes.
  • Mentoring and supporting students and nurses in the clinical environment.
