Young Person's Wellbeing Practitioner

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Young Person's Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team at Catch22. As a key member of our youth support services, you will play a vital role in building trusting relationships with young people and providing them with the support and guidance they need to overcome the challenges they face.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with young people, understanding their individual needs and providing tailored support to help them achieve their goals.
- Work collaboratively with a range of agencies, including Youth Services, Social Care, Substance Misuse, and NHS, to ensure young people receive comprehensive and coordinated support.
- Provide one-to-one support to young people, using non-formalized therapeutic techniques to help them manage their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
- Identify and refer young people with complex mental health needs to appropriate agencies, ensuring they receive the specialist support they require.
- Support young people to access a broad range of in-house and local services, including education, employment, and training opportunities.
- Work closely with local services to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to support, avoiding gaps in provision and ensuring young people receive the help they need.
Requirements
- Hold an NVQ level 2 in a relevant area or a degree in a social studies subject, such as sociology, social administration, psychology, or teaching, youth work, nursing, substance misuse, or social work.
- Have experience of working with young people in youth-based or support settings, including providing one-to-one support and working with vulnerable young people.
- Have knowledge and awareness of the types of issues that affect young people, including emotional wellbeing and mental health.
- Be able to work effectively with staff from a range of different agencies, including Youth Services, Social Care, Substance Misuse, and NHS.
- Have an understanding of relevant legislation, policy, and good practice relating to young people.
