About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Support Worker to join our team at Sorrel Ward, an 11-bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit for Adults in Reading. As a Clinical Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to patients with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake unsupervised assigned tasks within the ward/clinical team and report outcomes to a qualified nurse.
- Assist in the provision of care, including supporting patients with daily living activities and promoting independence.
- Provide support to relatives and carers, offering guidance and reassurance as needed.
- Work in support of qualified nurses, undertaking assigned tasks and contributing to the delivery of excellent patient care.
- Mentor and support junior nursing assistants as required by the Nurse in Charge.

Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Band 2 Support Worker in a mental health acute care setting.
- Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Able to work under pressure and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and tasks.
- Desire to undertake further training and self-improvement to support patient experience.
