About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Community Children's Service at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist occupational therapy services to children with complex health and physical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to children with physical disabilities and complex needs.
  • Supervise and support junior therapists and therapy assistants to ensure the delivery of excellent patient care.
  • Develop and implement occupational therapy programs to promote independence and participation in daily activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, educators, and families, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives, including the development of policies and procedures.
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise to the team, including risk assessments and management.

Requirements
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Postgraduate experience in children's occupational therapy, including experience with children with physical disabilities and complex needs.
  • Experience of supervising junior staff and developing occupational therapy programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
