Site Maintenance Technician

Salary: £40,692.51 per annum

Location: Various locations within the region

Job Overview:

This role is essential for executing both scheduled and emergency maintenance across multiple sites within a designated area.

The technician will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of electrical, mechanical, and structural assets in retail environments, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with company health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the organization professionally and foster positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Complete all necessary Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks and ensure accurate logging of remedial actions for legal compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor the Maintenance Assistant, providing guidance to ensure adherence to company protocols.
  • Respond promptly to service requests from the Helpdesk, assessing job requirements and executing repairs as needed.
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks to meet agreed timelines and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Communicate effectively with store management regarding any maintenance issues that may impact operations.
  • Conduct surveys and prepare reports as required.
  • Perform alterations and installations within your area of expertise, adhering to current specifications.
  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance as assigned by the Regional Engineering Supervisor.
  • Assist other technicians in different locations when requested by management.
  • Participate in the recruitment of qualified Maintenance Assistants to ensure ongoing service delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds (C&G) qualifications.
  • Level 3 core Electrical qualification, such as C&G 2330 or C&G 2365, with relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems and their applications.
  • Ability to manage and support team members effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Self-driven and motivated.
