Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our Vehicle Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying electrical and electronic systems to our fleet of autonomous test vehicles.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing electrical and electronic systems for autonomous vehicles
  • Working with suppliers of Drive by Wire systems to implement robust, high-quality, and safe drive-by-wire installations
  • Defining and creating physical hardware solutions as part of a Drive by Wire system on a new vehicle platform
  • Designing and debugging CAN bus communication systems
  • Working cross-functionally with the wider Oxa team to identify design and functional requirements
  • Interaction with suppliers of electrical and electronic components
  • Producing wiring schematics and schedules, assembly drawings, detail drawings, circuit diagrams, and PCB layouts
  • Producing bills of materials specifying components and potential suppliers
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Prior experience working with vehicle control systems, drive-by-wire systems, or general vehicle integration
  • Experience of field testing complex systems such as autonomous platforms, robotics, or motorsport projects
  • Proven experience with electrical design projects
  • A sound knowledge of engineering design principles
  • A good understanding of electrical principles
