About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Person to join our team at Abingworth Hall, a stunning country house nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our 30 elegantly appointed bedrooms and various amenities.

Your primary focus will be on handling day-to-day maintenance tasks, including plumbing, painting, heating, pool plant care, carpentry, and electrics. You will work closely with our Area Maintenance Manager on special projects, showcasing your expertise and contributing to the overall maintenance of the property.

In addition to your technical skills, you will also be responsible for maintaining the garden area, working with the House Gardener or contract gardener to ensure the grounds remain picturesque. This may involve tasks such as mending fences, tending to external lights, and maintaining walls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry
  • Assist with special projects, working closely with the Area Maintenance Manager
  • Maintain the garden area, including tasks such as mending fences and tending to external lights
  • Work collaboratively with the House Gardener or contract gardener to ensure the grounds remain well-maintained
Requirements
  • Recent hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical work, pool plant maintenance, or a related trade
  • A 'can-do' attitude, with a flexible approach to handling diverse tasks
  • In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety practices within a work environment
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders
