About the Role

We are seeking an experienced healthcare professional to join our Blood Health Team as a Blood Transfusion Specialist. You will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of Patient Blood Management (PBM) across Wales, ensuring the safe and appropriate use of blood components and alternatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hospitals throughout Wales to promote best practices in transfusion medicine.
  • Provide expert guidance on clinical transfusion pathways, ensuring adherence to national guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of educational programs for healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct audits and analyses to monitor transfusion practices and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of current research and advancements in blood transfusion medicine.

Qualifications and Experience

You will possess a relevant healthcare qualification, such as Registered Nurse or Biomedical Scientist, with demonstrable experience in transfusion medicine. A postgraduate qualification in a related field is highly desirable.

Welsh Language Skills
