Job Title: Occupational Health Nurse

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join our team at Birketts. As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing proactive wellbeing support to our employees and delivering occupational health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive advice to line managers, HR colleagues, and employees on fitness for work and necessary adjustments.
  • Review pre-employment health questionnaires and provide guidance on medical concerns to the HR team.
  • Complete the first stage of annual medical screening process for senior staff.
  • Provide appointments to discuss physical or mental health-related issues and discuss options for support.
  • Signpost to relevant options for support and promote internal support options.
  • Assist with staff referrals to our external Occupational Health Doctor.
  • Attend team meetings to highlight the service and importance of health and wellbeing.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of our wellbeing strategy and initiatives.
  • Monitor and report common themes or areas for concern.
  • Provide ad-hoc promotions such as mole checking, BMI checks, and blood pressure checks.
  • Comply with relevant regulatory frameworks.

General Approach:

  • Show a positive and proactive approach in wellbeing efforts.
  • Build relationships with employees and Partners to encourage trust and address their needs and concerns.
  • Take initiative when responding to queries and actively seek solutions to problems.
  • Support staff with their concerns and offer avenues for support.

Requirements:

  • Experience in delivering corporate occupational health services and health assessments.
  • NMC registration as an adult nurse or registration in progress.
  • Mental Health First Aid Training (preferred).
  • Phlebotomy skills preferred but not essential.
