About the Role:

Sureserve is seeking a highly skilled Fire Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing maintenance and servicing of life safety equipment, emergency light and smoke vent systems, in accordance with all current British & European standards, specifically BS5839 standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance of contracts, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Respond to emergency callouts and carry out any remedial works as required, prioritizing the safety of our clients and their assets.
  • Conduct thorough asset verification, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Install replacement/additional equipment, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, providing 24/7 support to our clients.
  • Conduct site surveys as required, identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Train apprentices, sharing your expertise and knowledge to ensure the next generation of maintenance professionals.
  • Act at all times in a professional and diligent manner, considering the needs of our clients and their businesses.
  • Service and maintain emergency lighting systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of the British Standards BS 5839 and BS 5266.
  • FIA units (1,3,5).
  • At least 1 year of industry experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality maintenance services.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and schedules, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.

Working Environment:

This is an operational site-based position that involves collaborating closely with our support service team while engaging with our clients. Expect a dynamic and fast-paced work setting that combines on-site work with ongoing communication with office-based colleagues. The role necessitates proactive interaction and liaison with clients/customers to ensure effective communication and first-class customer service.
