Job Title: Principal Moderator - BTEC Tech Awards

At Pearson, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Moderator to join our team of examiners and moderators. As a Principal Moderator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our BTEC Tech Awards assessments.

About the Role:

The Principal Moderator will be responsible for:

  • Setting coursework tasks and assignments
  • Standardizing moderators and ensuring they meet the required standards
  • Compiling exemplar work and annotated materials for standardization tasks
  • Ensuring accuracy and consistency in the application of assessment criteria
  • Participating in the awarding process and advising on the Pearson Set Assignment
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in teaching and assessing in the construction sector
  • Strong knowledge of the BTEC Tech Awards specifications and assessment criteria
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience of managing people and teams
Industry Background:

This role requires a strong understanding of the construction industry, with experience in both Carpentry & Joinery and Brickwork. You should be able to present construction-related drawings using a CAD or equivalent drafting package.

Additional Information:

This is a remote working opportunity, and you will be required to attend digital meetings for a minimum of 10-13 non-consecutive day-long events. Some weekends and fixed meetings may be required.
