About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Solicitor to lead our Corporate and Commercial team at Origin Legal Ltd. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for leading a highly successful and motivated team of lawyers and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of lawyers and support staff to achieve business objectives.
  • Develop and implement a team strategy and plan for growth, identifying areas for improvement and new revenue streams.
  • Coach and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Report to the senior management team on team performance and progress.
  • Identify training needs amongst team members and implement training programs.
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of corporate and commercial work, including:
    • Share sale and purchase agreements.
    • Asset sale and purchase agreements.
    • Management Buy Outs.
    • Employee Ownership Trusts.
    • Demergers.
    • Share re-organisations.
    • Shareholder agreements.
    • Share buy backs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Solicitor in a corporate and commercial team.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing a team to achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business development skills, with experience of identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
