About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Officer to join our team at Great Places Housing Group. As a key member of our Sustainable Assets Team, you will play a crucial role in helping us deliver our corporate plan and Sustainable Asset strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a carbon reduction plan for our homes, analyzing existing component data and future cynical works to create annual work programs.
  • Identify and secure funding opportunities to support our sustainable targets.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with the retrofit process.
  • Support the Decarbonisation Manager in the procurement and delivery of decarbonisation retrofit projects.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to contractual deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support colleagues in the wider directorate on relevant sustainability work and projects.
  • Manage activity related to funded programs, including raising orders, scheduling, and monthly progress reporting.
  • Produce necessary paperwork associated with the installation of energy-efficient measures.
  • Work closely with scheme retrofit co-ordinators to ensure PAS installation paperwork is provided in line with the main contract program.
  • Provide support with customer communications and engagement activities.
  • Report on measures and targets to internal and external funding partners.
  • Undertake pre- and post-works evaluations to determine the overall success of projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in a sustainability role or similar.
  • Understanding of energy and carbon performance.
  • Knowledge of building physics.
  • Experience of bid writing and/or delivery of SHDF (or similar) funding initiatives.
  • Ability to liaise and manage contractor performance.
  • Demonstrable experience of cross-organizational working and engaging stakeholders.
  • Strong numerical, data analysis, and report writing skills.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Ability to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner when working under pressure.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Effective liaison with colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Organisation and ability to time-manage workload.
  • Able to deliver a high standard of customer service.
  • The ability to develop and project a positive image of Great Places through personal, written, and oral skills.
