Our client, a well-established and expanding organization, is seeking a skilled NPI Production Engineer to enhance their Manufacturing Support Team.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and providing continuous engineering support for manufacturing processes.
The NPI Engineer will oversee all tooling and equipment, define assembly methods, and establish the necessary materials and sequences for the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) of new products.
- Perform basic setup and mechanical maintenance of production equipment.
- Develop and maintain process documentation in line with customer specifications.
- Implement engineering changes resulting from product modifications or process enhancements to manage necessary adjustments to system setups and work instructions.
- Lead initiatives to continuously enhance manufacturing processes using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects and improve cycle times.
- Play a crucial role in the transition of new products into production (NPI), collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of NPI projects.
- Ensure that new product and process development documentation is completed in accordance with the Quality Management System to facilitate a seamless transition to production.
- Create manufacturing programs, including cutting and label printing programs.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various departments such as Quality & Design Engineering, Production, Materials, Warehouse, and Training to support collective objectives.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training for production personnel as needed.
- Estimate manufacturing labor and costs, determine time standards, and maintain reporting systems for coordinating manufacturing operations.
- Restructure and update customer Bills of Materials (BOMs) for the client’s system.
- Possess a degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Environment within a technical support capacity.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly and box builds.
- Have familiarity with Oracle or other ERP systems.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
- Showcase strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
