Group Financial Controller

Our client, a PE-backed SME business with a blue-chip client base, is seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to provide support for the CFO and instill more rigour into the finance function. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in controlling, accounting, and reporting, with experience in working with PE-backed businesses or similar environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver best-in-class financial control through effective team design, engagement, development, performance management, and recruitment.
- Embed a robust internal controls and review framework to ensure accuracy of reported financial information.
- Lead preparation of Group management results and consolidated statutory results.
- Manage balance sheet risks, opportunities, and provisions, flagging impact on P&L and inputting to forecast/budget processes as appropriate.
- Maximise working capital, applying commercial judgement to manage suppliers and customers with a focus on cash.
- Provide financial assistance to subsidiaries, including management reporting guidance and cashflow statement support.
The role is based in London and requires the ability to get to the office 2-3 days a week. The initial contract is intended to be 3 months.
