Within the Cloud and Digital Services Division of the Scottish Government's Digital Directorate, the focus is on improving public service efficiency through the creation of common platforms and component technologies.
The ScotPayments team, a dynamic group within this division, aims to revolutionize the management of financial transactions for the Scottish Government. Their mission is to design, construct, and oversee a reliable payments service through a unified platform, facilitating transactions with businesses, charities, citizens, and government entities.
Currently in the beta phase, the ScotPayments team is prioritizing outbound payments for key partners. To advance to the next stage of development, they are seeking a Lead Platform Architect. The successful candidate will thrive in this agile environment, playing a crucial role in establishing an operational payment platform. Responsibilities will include overseeing architecture, development, and support to ensure the smooth operation of outbound payments for designated organizations.

Responsibilities
- Platform Design and Development
- Architectural Design: Lead the creation and evolution of scalable, secure, and high-performance platform architecture.
- Technology Selection: Assess and choose suitable technologies and tools to facilitate platform development and operations.
- Leadership and Collaboration
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide development teams, ensuring compliance with architectural best practices and standards.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to align with business objectives and technical requirements.
