About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and flexible Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Spire Norwich Hospital. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the hospital's internal and external areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including painting, decorating, and minor repairs to the hospital's internal and external structure, fabric, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Keep the hospital's grounds clean and tidy, including the car park, and ensure that all signage is clear and in good repair.
  • Assist with the unloading of heavy deliveries and move furniture and other items within the hospital as required.
  • Collect and transport mail, notes, equipment, and other requested items between Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital and other external associated sites.
  • Work with the porters and engineers to ensure the smooth running of the hospital.
  • Undertake any additional tasks as requested by the Estates Manager.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in maintenance and repair.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and social skills, with an open and friendly nature.
  • Able to complete highly physical tasks, including cleaning, moving, and building furniture.
  • Ability to work without supervision and at your own initiative.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings and weekends.
