Technical Support Manager
The role of the Technical Support Manager is crucial in overseeing the relationships, processes, and service delivery between ICP, CPO, and DNO to ensure seamless execution of end-user EV deployment initiatives. This position is essential in establishing ESP as the preferred partner for ICPs.
Applicants should possess a minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of scope documentation for targeted sites, particularly for EV charging low and high voltage connections, for ICP tendering.
- Conduct evaluations of private networks prior to adoption.
- Manage the route selection process from Point of Connection (POC) to site, identifying the most effective solutions.
- Oversee the ESP ICP Procurement System, including the upkeep and enhancement of Ratecard solutions.
- Implement ESP's program support methodology, which includes tracking ICP commercial and tendering progress, monitoring ICP delivery progress, and resolving issues at problem sites.
- Coordinate new connection designs with partners, land rights, equipment sourcing, specifications, and the ICP supply chain.
- Manage the POC process, ensuring effective internal and customer coordination for successful outcomes.
- Expedite and accelerate POC and related requests with the support of the technical administration team.
- Ensure accurate reporting and transparency regarding the status of POCs for all stakeholders.
- Secure viable POCs for end-users, negotiating and persuading DNOs as necessary.
- Develop and maintain relationships with DNOs to bolster the ESP proposition.
- Engage with ESP's technical and engineering expertise as required.
- Assist in determining POC viability by exploring value engineering opportunities.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement.
Person Specification
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction, electrical, or utilities sector.
- Experience in managing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, including procurement and contract management.
- Proven success in engaging with DNOs.
- Knowledge of power distribution (both high and low voltage), ideally acquired from DNO, IDNO, ICP, or M&E backgrounds.
- Ability to creatively solve problems.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
