Key Responsibilities

  • Content Editing: Review and edit translated texts to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to style and tone.
  • Linguistic Quality Control: Verify translations for grammatical correctness, consistency, and cultural appropriateness.
  • CAT Tool Expertise: Utilize computer-assisted translation tools (e.g., Trados Studio, XBench) to enhance editing and proofreading processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with translators, project managers, and other team members to deliver precise and polished content to clients.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a high standard of written work with zero tolerance for errors.

Requirements

  • Education: Educated to degree level (ideally in Translation Studies, Languages, or a related field).
  • Language Proficiency: Native-level proficiency in Italian or Spanish, with strong oral and written English skills.
  • Computer Literacy: Very good computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Time Management: Demonstrated ability to produce detailed and accurate work within tight deadlines.
  • Grammar and Proofreading Skills: Excellent grammar knowledge and proofreading skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse teams and explain linguistic details effectively.
  • Writing Skills: Flawless writing skills with a strict attention to detail.
  • Focus and Concentration: Ability to focus on detailed work for extended periods.
  • CAT Tool Experience: Experience with CAT tools (Trados Studio, XBench) is preferred.
  • Additional Language Skills: Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience in a similar role within the language industry is an advantage.
