Mechanical Fitter

ZD Technical Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a heavy manufacturing facility and hold City & Guilds or similar vocational qualifications. Responsibilities include responding to plant downtime, repairing and replacing damaged equipment, and participating in continuous improvement activities. The successful candidate will have excellent planning and organizational skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach. Shift patterns available include continental days/nights, weekend nightshift, and weekday nightshift. Salary is £42k with allowance. The company offers a great reputation within their respective sectors and a major employer within the area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the plant maximizes throughput, interrogating and resolving equipment problems, and participating in summer and winter overhauls. The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to shift work and be willing to cover 24/7 shifts. The company is committed to health and safety standards and requires the successful candidate to complete work permits as required. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong customer focus and the ability to work on their own initiative.
