About the Role...

As a Utilities Technician, you will be responsible for executing on-site tasks as directed by your Team Leader or Site Manager, adhering to the specific framework requirements relevant to your role.

Key Responsibilities...
  • Perform site duties as assigned by the team leader.
  • Adhere to Avove's Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental Policy Provisions, embodying the Work Together, Safe Together philosophy.
  • Report any incidents, including good calls, close calls, and near misses, through Avove's Health & Safety reporting system.
  • Identify and report unsafe acts or conditions promptly.
  • Consistently wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Follow both generic and task-specific risk assessments for each assignment.
  • Only undertake tasks, activities, and operate equipment that you are certified or competent to handle.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all customers at all times.
  • Comply with Streetworks regulations diligently.
  • Utilize materials efficiently and ensure any unused materials are returned to stores.
  • Work in a proactive and professional manner, ensuring the site is left clean and tidy.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and machinery are well-maintained and report any issues to your team leader.
  • Attend briefings as required.
  • Carry out any reasonable requests as directed by your People Manager.
Skills & Experience Required...
  • NRSWA certification.
  • Experience with signing, lighting, and guarding.
  • A valid driving license, as travel within the contract area is necessary.
  • A responsible, proactive, and adaptable attitude.
  • Ability to support your team in problem-solving.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.
  • Willingness to develop and acquire new skills and qualifications.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in confined spaces within a civil engineering environment.
  • Understanding and commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
