Senior Geophysicist and GIS Expert Job Description


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geophysicist and GIS Expert to join our team at Humand Talent. As a Senior Geophysicist and GIS Expert, you will play a crucial role in advancing our site and infrastructure assessment capabilities.


About the Role:


As a Senior Geophysicist and GIS Expert, you will be responsible for designing and refining survey techniques, leading and overseeing fieldwork to ensure data quality, processing and interpreting complex data, and presenting results to clients. You will also be responsible for maintaining and improving quality standards, collaborating across various project types and departments, and contributing to research and development projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Refine Survey Techniques: Develop and implement innovative survey techniques to improve data quality and accuracy.
  • Lead and Oversee Fieldwork: Supervise and coordinate fieldwork to ensure data collection is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Process and Interpret Complex Data: Analyze and interpret complex data to provide valuable insights to clients.
  • Presentation of Results: Present results to clients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Maintenance of Quality Standards: Ensure that all work is completed to the highest quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with various project teams and departments to achieve project goals.


Requirements:

  • Postgraduate Degree in Geophysics: A postgraduate degree in geophysics or a related field is required.
  • Experience in High-Resolution Geophysical Surveys: A minimum of 5 years of experience in high-resolution geophysical surveys is required.
  • Proficiency in Techniques: Proficiency in techniques such as GPR, EM, Magnetometry, and Seismic methods is required.
  • Software Skills: Experience with software such as Oasis Montaj, GeoGiga, SurfSeis, and GIS packages is required.
  • Strong Scientific and Enquiring Mind: A strong scientific and enquiring mind with excellent communication skills is required.
