Overview

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing the production team and, through effective collaboration with Cell Leaders, ensures that all production activities are conducted efficiently, meeting quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.

Team Leadership

  • Strategically plan and allocate manufacturing resources within a multifaceted production environment to satisfy current and anticipated production demands.
  • Guarantee that product quality consistently aligns with customer expectations.
  • Cultivate a team of Cell Leaders by employing effective management techniques, including personal and team development, performance evaluation, functional training, career advancement discussions, and engagement strategies to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Facilitate training and development sessions as necessary.

Production Management

  • Supervise the Cell Leaders to ensure they operate their areas efficiently and effectively, delivering products on time, within budget, and to quality specifications.
  • Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams for timely problem resolution.
  • Promote evidence-based problem-solving within the team to ensure proactive and robust issue resolution.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the team, driving continuous improvements to meet established targets.
  • Manage manufacturing constraints to ensure timely delivery of products while adhering to cost and quality standards.
  • Optimize resource allocation and cell layout to align with production and business objectives.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure adherence to the company’s quality management system, including ISO9001 standards.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit actions.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the production teams, enhancing productivity through the application of best manufacturing practices.
  • Initiate and lead projects aimed at improving productivity, reducing costs, and enhancing output.
  • Support and drive productivity and workplace organization improvements (5S/LEAN).
  • Develop best practice functional documentation and processes.

New Product Introduction Support

  • Assist in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, managing any production impacts in collaboration with Cell Leaders.

Financial Management

  • Collaborate with the Finance team to develop a budget for the areas of responsibility.
  • Oversee budget management for designated areas.
  • Work with Engineering to prepare and manage the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) budget for the respective areas.

Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to the operational strategy for the success of the RF Power division, in collaboration with other teams and managers.

Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities

The role holder is also accountable for OHSE and must:

  • Advocate for adherence to Health and Safety standards, procedures, and company policies;
  • Address and report all unsafe or non-compliant situations proactively;
  • Exhibit a duty of care towards colleagues and escalate potential Health and Safety concerns as appropriate;
  • Support and promote the Safety, Health, and Environment Leadership Team (SHELT) program to enhance the OHSE culture for ongoing improvement.

Key Competencies

  • Proven experience in managing teams, preferably in complex manufacturing settings;
  • A successful history of implementing continuous improvement methodologies, problem-solving techniques, quality management approaches, and change management strategies to achieve operational efficiencies.
  • Practical knowledge of relevant business metrics to drive sustained performance enhancements.
