AWS Professional Services is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Migration Consultant to join our team. As a Cloud Migration Consultant, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing complex IT infrastructure migration solutions to cloud environments.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the design, planning, and implementation of cloud migration solutions
  2. Drive architectural discussions and design exercises to build and automate large-scale migrations to cloud
  3. Perform application portfolio analysis to identify candidate applications and workloads for migration and develop an optimal migration plan
  4. Verify technical feasibility and validate solution options for the requirements
  5. Identify workarounds for specific issues and corner scenarios observed during migration
  6. Develop test plans and test-cases to demonstrate application/database readiness post-migration
  7. Work closely with application teams to develop a migration plan and ensure business functionality and SLAs are met
  8. Consult for optimal design of server/database environments and propose recommendations to optimize performance
  9. Develop innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems
  10. Partner with the sales team to design solutions for customers that drive cloud adoption
  11. Conduct technical sessions for internal teams, partners, and customers
Requirements:
  1. 10+ years of technical specialist, design, and architecture experience and 7+ years of cloud and on-premise integration experience
  2. Bachelor's degree in Information Science/Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
  3. 4+ years of technical experience in migrating IT infrastructure from On-Prem to any Cloud environment, including landing zones creation and application migration (On-premise to VMC on AWS experience preferred)
  4. 4+ years of experience in design, build, upgrade, and maintenance of VMware environments (Knowledge on vCenter, HCX, NSX, VLAN, VSAN, VMFS, NFS, and VMware tools)
  5. Experience in automation and Infrastructure as a Code with expertise in tools such as Python, Terraform, or Ansible
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience in assessment of source architecture and map it to relevant target architecture in the cloud environment
  2. Experience in defining the right migration methodology/tools for the migrations based on technical complexity
  3. Practical Linux or Windows-based systems administration skills, with good knowledge on Storage, Security, and network tracks
  4. Good understanding and experience in dealing with firewall rules, VPC setup, network routing, Identity & Access Management, and security implementation
  5. Experience in Cloud Formation, Terraform, and other automation/scripting
  6. Implementation experience with primary AWS/similar services like - (EC2, ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, VPC, RDS, Route53, etc)
  7. Working knowledge on configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible is a plus
