We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our pastoral team at a secondary school in the heart of Urmston. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers in delivering tailored educational programs that meet the unique needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Learning: Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons that accommodate the diverse needs of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons and activities, helping them engage with the curriculum effectively.
- Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and manage any challenging behaviours in accordance with school policies.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Encouragement & Motivation: Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging students' independence and self-esteem through praise and constructive feedback.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience working with children or young people would be beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to use your initiative when necessary.
