Join Our Foster Care Team

Foster Wales Powys is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to provide short-term emergency or respite foster care for young people in need. As a Reflective Carer, you will play a vital role in providing a secure and supportive environment for children and young people who require immediate placement or respite care.

About the Role

As a Reflective Carer, you will be responsible for providing care to a child or young person for a maximum of 28 days. You will work closely with our team to ensure the individual needs of the child or young person are met, and provide a safe and nurturing environment. You will also be entitled to 5 weeks' paid resting fee.

Requirements

  • Significant experience of working directly with or caring for young people who present a range of behaviors
  • Open-minded and committed to making a positive difference in a young person's life
  • Patient, time, and commitment to meet the individual needs of the child or young person
  • Ability to support young people through times of transition and change

What You'll Receive

  • Weekly fee of £380 plus fostering allowances when you have a child in placement
  • Dedicated fostering social worker and family support worker
  • Support from a team of professionals working with the young person in your care
  • Access to a specialist training program
  • 24-hour support via the foster care support line and emergency duty team
