Job Title: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with SEN pupils in a mainstream setting, providing individualized support to help them overcome social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pupils with various SEN needs, including social, emotional, and mental health challenges, as well as behavioural difficulties.
  • Work with SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to support their educational development and engagement.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils, helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social skills and relationships among pupils.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in SEN support or as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Up-to-date DBS check (which can be arranged through Prospero Teaching if needed).
  • Two professional references.
  • Relevant experience includes: care or support work, experience working with SEN pupils, health and social care or childcare qualifications, personal experience supporting young people with learning or behavioural needs.
