We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at NES Fircroft, a leading global workforce solutions provider. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing front-line electrical engineering support to our operations site-based team and delivering engineering modifications and technical discipline input to our Projects team.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical System Improvements: Specify, scope, and execute improvements to electrical systems to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
- Asset Electrical Engineering Focal Point: Act as the primary point of contact for site projects, including studies, and provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Electrical Single Point of Accountability (SPA): Lead the development and implementation of long-term asset strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Discipline Improvements: Lead improvements in plant reliability, equipment strategy, defect elimination, and equipment rationalization to optimize asset performance.
- Electrical Spares Strategy: Define and own the asset's electrical spares strategy to minimize downtime and optimize maintenance costs.
- Plant Reliability and Safety: Lead improvements in plant reliability, root cause analysis, defect elimination, and continuous improvement to ensure a safe working environment.
- Safety Reviews and Risk Assessments: Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and investigations as the electrical engineering focal point.
- Maintenance Strategies: Act as custodian of asset maintenance strategies for electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Planned Maintenance Routines: Support the maintenance team with the implementation of planned maintenance routines to minimize downtime.
- Breakdown Maintenance: Support the maintenance team in regards to equipment breakdown, including investigation of fault, defect resolution, and execution of breakdown maintenance.
- Electrical Engineering Documentation: Act as custodian of key electrical engineering documentation, including Power System Study, RFI Ignition Study, Lightning Risk Assessment, High Energy Electrical Equipment Risk Assessment, and Ex Inspection.
- Asset Electrical MOCs (Management of Change): Responsible Engineer for Asset Electrical MOCs proposals.
- Incident Management: Participate in the incident management team as required.
- Travel and Technical Support: Travel to Offshore Platforms or remote onshore sites to provide technical support.
- Asset Self-Audit Program: Participate in the Asset self-audit program to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Education: Hold a Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Qualifications: Be a Chartered Engineer or actively working to achieve chartered status.
- Experience: Hold 10+ years' experience, including experience of Oil & Gas, Refining, or Chemical Industries.
- Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge and experience of electrical equipment used in explosive atmospheres and relevant legislation such as ATEX and DSEAR.
- Industrial Power Systems: Knowledge and experience of the design, operation, commissioning, and maintenance of HV (up to 33kV) and LV industrial power systems and plant equipment.
- UK Regulatory and Industry Standards: Comprehensive understanding and applied knowledge of relevant UK Regulatory (Safety Case, COMAH...) and industry standards.
