Job Overview

As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and overseeing one of our branches, ensuring performance is sustained at its current level and optimized for continuous growth. You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance and the correct implementation of company policies and procedures. Your leadership skills will be essential in motivating and developing your team to achieve objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee branch operations, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective stock management.
  • Lead and motivate a team of sales and operations staff, providing coaching and development opportunities to enhance their performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer service.
  • Authorise trading sales and margin decisions, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Work closely with other branches to optimize stock usage and drive business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a high standard of tidiness and safety within the branch.
  • Investigate and report any incidents, ensuring prompt and accurate reporting and necessary procedures are followed.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in a Builders' Merchant environment, either at local or national level.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in managing a small/medium team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with staff, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
