Vacancy Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team at a successful Tier 1 Main Contractor operating across Essex. The successful candidate will lead 2nd Stage procurement across multiple projects, working closely with internal departments to ensure cost estimation and budgeting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for packages from order to start on site
  • Liaise with sub-contractors and supply chain to ensure prompt return of quotes/pricing
  • Assess and review subcontractor responses in line with project design
  • Encourage and promote cooperative working and long-term relationships with the business's supply chain

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years+ experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a Main Contractor
  • Stable career history with experience working on New Build projects in excess of £20m
  • Excellent negotiation skills and previous experience procuring subcontractors

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or comparable qualification
