Job Summary

A full-time Specialty Doctor position is available in the Inpatient Service at Pennine Care NHS FT. The successful candidate will work on the North Ward, Irwell Unit, a 22-bed acute Mental Health Ward.

Main Responsibilities

The Specialty Doctor will be responsible for participating in ward reviews, mental health act paperwork, and Tribunal-related work. They will also support junior doctors on the team and work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).

Key Duties
  • Provide leadership and support to junior doctors within the department.
  • Contribute to the teaching of mental health and non-mental health staff.
  • Participate in departmental management and clinical governance.
  • Work closely with the consultant psychiatrist and other senior trainees to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
