Job Summary

The Department for Energy Security & Net Zero is seeking a highly skilled Estates Strategy Officer to join its Integrated Corporate Services (ICS) team. This role will play a critical part in shaping the department's property strategy, ensuring coherence across government, and driving sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic support to the Estates Strategy and Sustainability team, coordinating data collection, and management for property and sustainability activities.
  • Lead on the development and maintenance of a joint location plan for the department and its partner organizations.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including Cabinet Office, government departments, and partner organizations.
  • Support the property professionalization of the ICS Estates and Sustainability Team, aligning with the Government Property Profession (GPP) and Government Property Strategy (GPS) plans.
  • Coordinate and deliver the Estates Strategy and Sustainability team's Learning and Development (L&D) program and activities.
Requirements
  • A self-starter with excellent organizational and prioritization skills, able to balance demands efficiently.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective links with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and potentially Power BI.
  • A flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing demands and agendas.
Benefits

The Department for Energy Security & Net Zero offers a competitive benefits package, including a salary of £33,635, a pension contribution of £9,744, and a range of learning and development opportunities.

The department operates a discretionary hybrid working policy, allowing staff to balance work from home and office attendance. The current expectation is to attend the office or non-home based location for 40-60% of the time over the accounting period.
