Fermentation Scientist Opportunity

Winchester, KY

Onsite

We are seeking a highly skilled Fermentation Scientist to join our Pilot Plant team in Winchester, KY. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving our company's success by designing and executing experiments to evaluate and optimize fermentation technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct laboratory and pilot-scale experiments to evaluate and optimize fermentation technologies and support process development for new products.
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate experimental data effectively to inform decision-making and project direction.
  • Assess new technologies for process robustness, safety, and waste generation, recommending improvements as needed.
  • Manage or participate in projects following the PMP process, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Provide expertise to manufacturing sites and collaborate with teams to coordinate and execute experiments at external facilities.
  • Write technical transfer documents, assist in process scale-up, and prepare Business Case Analyses for site changes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field.
  • 10+ years' experience with a BS, 8+ years with an MS, or 2+ years with a PhD.
  • Experience in GMP biotech, pharmaceutical, or food environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with lab-to-production scale fermentation and technical transfer documentation.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
