Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and preparation of varied and nutritious menus, taking into account special dietary requirements and service user preferences.
  • Ensure the storage, preparation, and cooking of all food is carried out using the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Be responsible for the storage and use of cleaning items in accordance with COSHH.
  • Contribute to other food-related functions as required by the service.

Person Specification

  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Experience of working in a kitchen environment.
  • Awareness of COSHH requirements.
  • A knowledge of portion, stock control, and food cost control.
