Role Overview:
As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of passenger lifts and vehicle tail lifts. Your work will take you across the South of England, collaborating closely with our office-based After Sales Manager to manage your workload effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Commissioning: Carry out the installation and commissioning of passenger lifts in accordance with technical specifications and safety regulations. This includes conducting site assessments to guarantee compliance and suitable installation conditions.
- Maintenance and Servicing: Perform scheduled maintenance and safety inspections of passenger lifts. This includes completing LOLER Statutory Thorough Examinations and maintaining accurate records.
- Warranty Support: Address warranty issues by traveling to customer sites, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults, and executing repairs promptly.
Training and Development:
Comprehensive training will be provided on our specific software systems. You will have the autonomy to manage your daily tasks without micromanagement, fostering an environment of independence.
Package and Benefits:
- Starting salary of £32k - £35k, based on experience.
- Overtime opportunities available.
- Flexible working hours, Monday to Friday, with a weekly communicated schedule.
- 22 days of annual leave plus statutory holidays and an additional day off for your birthday.
- Provision of a fully equipped van, fuel card, essential tools, mobile phone, and tablet upon training completion.
Candidate Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic engineering.
- Experience with vehicle tail lifts is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in reading technical documents and drawings.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A full UK driving license and a willingness to travel extensively.
- Ability to work flexible hours and stay away from home when necessary.
- Physically fit to meet the demands of the role.
This position is ideal for individuals with a background in similar roles such as Tail Lift Fitter, Mobile Service Engineer, or those with mechanical expertise from the automotive sector.
