As a vital member of our team, you will contribute significantly to the well-being of our residents while promoting a positive and fulfilling work environment. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive training (both online and in-person), and access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
We are seeking a Supportive Care Provider to aid in delivering compassionate care and ensuring our Residents maintain their dignity and individuality.
Your role will involve collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to meet established care standards.
Key Responsibilities
Care Duties:
1. Uphold the highest standards of care by assisting Residents with daily activities such as bathing, toileting, dressing, and other essential living tasks.
2. Attend to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of Residents, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
3. Provide special assistance to Residents with limited mobility or those facing physical or learning challenges, utilizing available aids effectively.
4. Monitor Residents who may exhibit confusion or behavioral issues closely.
5. Support the promotion of continence among Residents.
6. Assist in caring for Residents who are nearing the end of life or have progressive illnesses, including providing last offices.
7. Observe and document care planning needs for Residents, maintaining accurate daily records in accordance with company policies.
8. Engage Residents in social activities, helping them to continue their hobbies and interests within the care home.
9. Respond to the Nurse Call System and assist as needed, while also managing incoming calls and visitors appropriately.
10. Under the guidance of senior Care Staff, report on the well-being of Residents regularly.
11. Conduct routine checks on Residents at intervals set by senior staff members.
12. Welcome visitors and provide refreshments or assistance as necessary.
13. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in Residents' rooms, ensuring that beds are made and commodes are emptied in line with waste disposal policies.
14. Clean and maintain equipment used by Residents, such as wheelchairs and hearing aids, ensuring the facility remains orderly and hygienic.
15. If applicable, manage Residents' clothing and personal items, ensuring they are clearly labeled and accounted for.
16. Uphold privacy and dignity for Residents who are dying and their families, in accordance with company policies.
17. Assist Residents during meal times, being mindful of dietary needs and swallowing difficulties, and help with serving food and drinks as required.
18. Accompany Residents on outings or to appointments as needed.
19. Maintain integrity in all interactions with Residents regarding their personal and financial matters, safeguarding the trust placed in you.
Communication:
20. Participate in staff and resident meetings as necessary.
Training & Development:
21. Keep your professional knowledge and skills up to date.
22. Attend mandatory training sessions, whether on-site or off-site, as required.
Health and Safety:
23. Report any infectious illnesses or accidents involving Residents, colleagues, or yourself to the Home Manager immediately.
24. Understand and implement the Nursing Home's Health and Safety Policy and Emergency Procedures.
25. Notify the Home Manager or Maintenance personnel of any faulty equipment or potential hazards.
26. Promote safe working practices throughout the Nursing Home.
General Responsibilities:
27. Uphold and enhance the reputation of the Nursing Home.
28. Ensure confidentiality of all sensitive information obtained during your duties.
29. Inform the Home Manager or Person in Charge of any absences as soon as possible.
30. Maintain security within the Nursing Home at all times.
31. Adhere to all company policies and procedures within specified timeframes.
32. Ensure all equipment is kept clean and well-maintained.
33. Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned to you.
