About This Opportunity
We are seeking a Retail Operations Leader to oversee our retail operations in the southern region of the country, encompassing areas from Norfolk to Kent and extending down to Cornwall. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract offering an exciting opportunity to lead a team and contribute to the success of a well-loved charity.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team of Area Managers, ensuring consistent, professional, and successful retail operations across the region.
- Develop a deep understanding of your region, identifying best practices and opportunities to optimize performance.
- Engage with all stakeholders and lead regional commercial meetings.
- Collaborate closely with other Retail Operations Leaders and colleagues in Food & Beverage and Holidays, sharing best practices and driving national initiatives.
- Foster an inclusive leadership style, inspiring and engaging your team to achieve both retail ambitions and the National Trust's strategic goals.
- Build strong relationships within the wider retail teams, support functions, regional colleagues, and external partners to deliver exceptional customer service and memorable retail experiences.
- Leverage your experience in matrix structures to navigate a complex organization, prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly and persuasively.
Who We're Looking For
We seek an experienced leader with a proven track record of managing multi-site commercial operations, a focus on service excellence, and consistent standards. You possess strong leadership skills, inspiring performance through coaching and mentoring. You are adept at managing performance, setting targets, tracking progress, and motivating individuals.
Your excellent communication and influencing skills enable you to build relationships in a multi-stakeholder environment. You have a keen commercial acumen, with experience in P&L ownership, budget development, KPI management, data analysis, and the ability to drive results.
