Database Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer to join our team at Ennismore. As a Database Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient database systems using MS SQL Server, Google BigQuery, or other structured/unstructured database solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Design and Implementation: Design and implement database systems that meet the needs of our business, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability.
  • SQL Query Development: Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for reporting and data integration.
  • Data Migration and Transformation: Perform data migration, transformation, and normalization between systems, ensuring seamless data flow.
  • Database Performance Optimization: Continuously identify areas for database performance improvement and proactively address bottlenecks.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement APIs to interface with databases and other applications, and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Experience as a SQL Database Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in database design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Database Expertise: Proficiency in MS SQL Server and Google BigQuery or similar databases, with experience working with structured and unstructured data.
  • API Knowledge: Experience with APIs and integration into database systems, with a strong understanding of data security and compliance regulations.
  • Problem-Solving and Learning Mindset: A proactive attitude toward finding solutions and resolving issues, with a willingness to make mistakes, experiment, and learn from them.
