Job Summary

The Pupil Support Assistant will play a vital role in supporting staff in managing students with challenging behaviour, while maintaining high standards and adhering to school routines. Key responsibilities include supervising the seclusion room, including break and lunch times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to students on issues such as behaviour, engagement, and attendance.
  • Effectively communicate with pupils, staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive pastoral support for all students.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Utilize behaviour management skills to de-escalate conflicts and promote positive relationships.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve student outcomes.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with young people facing barriers to learning.
  • Competent behaviour management skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and reliable individual with a sensitive approach to supporting students.
  • A good sense of humour and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team.
