Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team at Inception Pro Recruitment. This role is pivotal in the machinery manufacturing sector, focusing on innovative control systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

  • Annual leave of 23 days plus public holidays, with an additional day accrued for each year of service up to a maximum of 28 days after five years
  • Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
Interview Process

The selection process consists of two stages: an initial telephone interview followed by an in-person meeting.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Controls Manager and work alongside Mechanical Design Engineers and Technicians. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting technicians in the assembly and testing of control systems
  • Designing software applications for Windows using C++
  • Developing PLC software utilizing Siemens TIA Portal
  • Creating electrical system designs and layouts with ePlan electrical software
  • Building and testing electrical units and PC systems, as well as wiring cabinets when necessary
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree or HND in a relevant engineering field
  • Experience in software design, particularly with PLCs or Windows applications
  • Proficiency in electrical design
  • Knowledge of industrial networking protocols such as Profinet
  • Experience in integrating software with control systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and electronic systems
  • A solid understanding of general engineering principles
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to various stakeholders
