We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join our team at Voltalia UK. As a key member of our EAI - Direction team, you will play a crucial role in identifying grid capacity across the UK's transmission and distribution networks for renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grid Capacity Identification: Identify capacity from 11kV to 400kV across UK's transmission and distribution networks for solar, wind, storage, and combinations of generation technologies.
  • Grid Connection Feasibility Studies: Perform grid connection feasibility studies and work with other teams to determine constraints and availability of land.
  • Grid Connection Applications: Execute generation and demand grid connection applications at both distribution and transmission level.
  • Calculations and Simulations: Perform the required calculations or simulations for G99 forms and/or DRC information.
  • Single-Line Diagrams: Produce single-line-diagrams to support applications.
  • Connection Surgeries: Arrange and hold connection surgeries with DNO, TO/ESO.
  • Model and Script Maintenance: Maintain the model and script for site identification.
  • Grid Connections Review: Review of grid connections offers.
  • Data Collection and Maintenance: Collect, update, and maintain the public data information available on DNO, TO ESO websites.
Requirements
  • Electrical Engineering Background: Graduate of Electrical Engineering (or Power systems or any other related engineering courses).
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience in power system industry within the UK.
  • Grid Connection Regulatory Framework: Understanding of grid connection regulatory framework.
  • Electrical Software Experience: Experience with electrical software such as IPSA etc.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work in project teams and communicate effectively in written reports.
  • Preferable Experience: Preferably with DNO, TO, ESO or Consultancy experience.
  • Renewable Energy Experience: Experience with Solar, BESS, and Wind.
  • Public Data Knowledge: Knowledge of public data such as LTDS, ETYS, NOA etc.
