As an Operational Technology (OT) Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality of Shell's offshore operations, contributing to the energy needs of the UK. Collaborating within a dynamic team that includes IT professionals, strategic partners, and technical facility personnel, you will safeguard essential OT infrastructure while actively participating in the design and execution of controls to uphold the integrity of Shell's operational IT systems.
Key Responsibilities
As an Operational Technology Engineer, your primary focus will be to integrate engineering and IT disciplines at Shell UK Exploration and Production (SUKEP) facilities, enhancing the protection of our operational IT infrastructure.
- Develop a deep technical understanding of SUKEP OT systems and establish connections with the business to facilitate system modifications, project deployments, and raise awareness of OT integrity protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory standards for IT components within SUKEP's operational technology landscape, utilizing established procedures and practices.
- Partner with site personnel, project teams, and vendors to implement assurance activities and project scopes, while maintaining updated information from various sources.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on OT-related matters.
- Operate with a high degree of independence, receiving regular guidance and mentorship from senior colleagues, and serve as a mentor for less experienced team members.
We are interested in candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Experience in industrial automation and control systems.
- Proficiency in safely managing legacy network and MAC equipment.
- Certification as a Global Industrial Cybersecurity Professional (GICSP).
- Ability to work autonomously in an operational offshore production setting, holding valid offshore working and medical certifications.
- Experience collaborating effectively with integrated service providers to achieve successful outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Extensive experience in cybersecurity.
- Proven ability to build productive relationships.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with permit to work processes and systems.
- Hands-on experience delivering OT upgrades, including DCS, PLCs, HMIs, with a focus on cybersecurity responsibilities.
