Senior HGV Technician Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our team at Scania, one of the world's leading manufacturers of heavy commercial vehicles. As a Senior HGV Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out service, maintenance, and repairs on our high-performance trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs, ensuring vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with HGVs, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification or proven technical experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to actively seek solutions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Preferred Requirements:

  • LGV/HGV/PCV licence an advantage.
  • Bus and coach experience an advantage.
  • IRTEC accreditation desirable but not essential, as we have IRTEC courses available.
