Job Description

Fusion Resources Ltd is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in a Maintenance Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias) role. This position is based in the East Riding Area and involves working with one of our longstanding food manufacturing clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery and facilities on site to ensure smooth production.
  • Assist the engineering management team in complying with health and safety responsibilities, legal compliance, and delivering efficiencies.
  • Manage external contractors and issue work permits as necessary.
  • Investigate fire and gas alarm activations and faults.
  • Attend to breakdowns and emergencies with a bias towards action.
  • Improve basic skills to achieve flexibility in supporting best practice maintenance on site.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency and process improvements.
  • Proactively manage time, prioritize workload, and make sound decisions based on business needs.
  • Provide technical knowledge, training, and guidance to the site.
  • Work closely with product stream members to maximize quality, customer satisfaction, and product stream profitability.
  • Communicate effectively and build strong partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Liaise with suppliers as required.
  • Contribute to the management of the site CMMS system.
  • Be available to cover shifts, including weekends and rotational cover.
  • Collate and record accurate details of daily shift activity.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as required by the company.
Requirements
  • Time served apprenticeship or equivalent with a recognized Engineering qualification.
  • Electrical bias preferred.
  • Previous maintenance experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Flexible working attitude.
  • Competent electrical and fault-finding skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Methodical and strong attention to detail.
  • Formal EH&S qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH).
  • HNC (or equivalent).
  • PLC control experience to a fault-finding level.
  • Experience in blending, mixing, extrusion processes.
  • High-level knowledge and practical experience in instrumentation loops, calibration techniques, and control systems.
  • Demonstrable evidence of World-class manufacturing techniques.
