Position Overview
We are currently in search of a talented Human Resources Specialist to join our team. This role encompasses a generalist scope and presents an excellent opportunity for skill development and career advancement.

Primarily based at Express Engineering (Gateshead), this position will also extend support to all group companies.

Main Responsibilities
The HR Specialist will be responsible for:

• Offering guidance and support to line managers on employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, capability, and absence management.
• Serving as the first point of contact for general HR inquiries, delivering high-quality, effective, and consistent advice to the wider organization.
• Managing statutory leave and request processes, including maternity, paternity, adoption, parental leave, and flexible working requests.
• Handling day-to-day operational HR activities such as recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, compliance, and general HR administration tasks.
• Assisting the payroll team by providing accurate and timely payroll information.
• Developing HR data and analytics.
• Contributing to the HR Strategy through the execution of HR projects and initiatives.

As with all roles, the responsibilities and tasks may evolve to meet the changing demands of our business.

Candidate Profile
To excel in this HR Specialist position at Express Engineering, you should:

• Be capable of establishing and maintaining influential relationships with key stakeholders.
• Possess prior experience in a hands-on HR generalist role.
• Have experience managing employee relations cases and demonstrate a solid understanding of employment law.
• Exhibit resourcefulness, problem-solving skills, and a thorough knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with strong ethics and cultural awareness.
• Have experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering context.
• Be CIPD qualified or possess equivalent experience.
